Gaurav Virkar is a Mumbai-born, Toronto-based cinematographer whose journey began as a commercial actor. This early exposure to the set piqued his interest in the technical artistry behind the lens, leading him to work as a “one-man-band” filmmaker. This self-taught period - producing, directing, and editing his own projects- solidified his passion for the camera.
To elevate his craft and strengthen his technical foundation after graduating film school, Gaurav worked with rental houses and on set in the lighting and grip departments, sharpening his mastery and understanding of how to modify light.
